Do you love pork chops? The Mister does and this week he wanted me to make stuffed pork chops! We first saw stuffed pork chops at Safeway but when I saw the price, it's like "I'm not paying that much for a pork chop"!! Seriously!!
I paid $7.41 for four boneless pork chops (which is still pricey to me) versus $11 something for a single stuffed pork chop from Safeway!
So let's make our own, shall we?
First you will need some pork chops, this is a must, lol.
Four came in the package but I only used two.
Stove top dressing, you can use whatever flavor you want. I used chicken. Salt and pepper. You can use whatever seasonings you want but I just used salt and pepper.
You don't want to use the real thin type because, well, to thin, lol. There are thick chops that work fine (Safeway was very thick, maybe 1" thick) I used the chops that are in between the two. Hope that makes sense. Next, you want to make a pocket in the middle of the chop like the picture below.
You need to make it deep enough to fill with stuffing! Be careful not to cut yourself!
Then when I am done cutting, I seasoning the inside cavity.
Prepare your dressing by following the directions on the box. I used Stove Top dressing but you can use homemade or other flavors or brands. I fixed the whole box and used for leftovers with other dishes, but you can use the can that uses single servings.
Once the dressing cools, add it to your pork chops.
Grease your dish.
Add your stuffed chops.
Season the outside of your chops with the whatever seasonings you like with your pork, I used salt and pepper again and the Mister loved them!
Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes. If you are using the thicker chops, it will take longer.
Then enjoy!!
Stuffed Pork Chops
Ingredients:
Pork Chops, thick as you want them
Stuffing, enough to fill your chops. (I use Stove Top)
Salt & Pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slit pork chops down one side to create a pocket. Stuff the chops with the stuffing. Season the chops with salt and pepper, or seasonings of your choice.
Bake chops at 350 degrees for approximately 20 - 25 minutes, longer for thicker chops.
So there you have it, hope you enjoy them!!
