What Would You Do?

Hey Friends,

I hope your weather is improving wherever you may be.
Our snow has finally melted, Yay!!

I have been working on several things and finally have finished two.
I am sharing one today.

I bought this little blue dresser about a month ago for $25.
I should have looked at it closer, my bad.
After I got it home and finally started working on it, I found out that the drawers all needed to be realigned and glued back into place and it was cheap particle board.
That's what I get for not looking (who does that) just me, I'm sure, lol.

So I cleaned it up and lightly sanded it.
I have been using this paint from Behr that I bought about a year
ago maybe longer.
The color is Burnished Clay by Behr Premium Plus Ultra, Stain Blocking Paint & Primer in One.

Didn't care for the knobs but they would look good at feet on something...
maybe a tray. And painted of course.

Knobs that came of the dresser

My hopes were to buy short Queen Anne legs for it and make it the same height as our tall bed.
But realistically, who wants to invest a small amount of money for those legs if the dresser itself isn't worth it??

So I decided to paint it with the vision I started with but without buying the Queen Anne legs and would figure it out as I went, lol. That's what I usually do anyway if truth be told, haha.
Anyone else like that?

So after gluing, repairing and getting new knobs, want to see what it looks like? Sorry for the bad photo!

I added the 1858 knobs from Hobby Lobby with a 50% off coupon, totally awesome.
Had the stencil from a couple of projects ago, trying to get my money back on that. ;0)
As you can tell I am not very good at stenciling so I sanded it to make it look stressed.

So remember this project???
See it here.

While I was painting the blue dresser, I had this idea!

See where I'm going?

And Ta Da!!

A chest of drawers, lol! Yep, married them!
Not sure if I like it like I thought I would but really
what surprised me was that the husband really liked it............

Haven't styled it yet. I'm thinking a lamp would be to high so I am pondering what to do still.
Any suggestions??
Any thoughts??
Do you like it??

Let me know in the comment section and pin if you like!
Have a great day!

Cheryl

  1. Wow Cheryl the transformation of the blue dresser is incredible. The color and the stenciling make it look so bright and airy. And I really like what you did by adding it on top of the other dresser.

    1. Thanks Mary, wasn't sure if it would look good or not!

  2. This is a very drastic makeover, but it works very well. Placing them together gives you so much more storage in the same amount of floor space.
