Grocery Sign From a Junk Board

I'm so happy how this sign turned out. Take a look!
I started with this awesome junk from my new neighbors who tore down the outbuildings on their property.

Yes, all of this came from their place. The boards were salvaged from the burning pile!
I just love the yellow and green boards.
Let me give you a little history on these boards and window frames.
My old neighbors lived in a trailer house built in the 1970's or close to it!

The mobile home

The house before the mobile home

Yes, you heard right.
This was built much earlier (not sure when) but this is where the boards came from.
Wish I would have pulled more from here but didn't even think about it at the time.
It also had a dirt floor, lol.
How housing has changed here, lol.
So anyway, this is where the yellow and green boards came from.

Here it is, the Grocery sign.

Right after the letters were painted on.

Going down each letter and roughing it up.

Love how the yellow comes through.

My daughter asked if I was going to put anything after the Y and yes I was but didn't have anything in mind yet.
She said she has seen this logo she wanted to show me that she has seen in her history lessons.

I loved it at first sight.
I used the wax paper method and it gave it a shabby look.
Let that dry and spray painted a clear coat onto it and done!

Here is the rest of the kitchen and the signs I have collected over a period of time.
The Grocery sign is the only one I made but love what it does to the kitchen.

The East sign cost me $2

The Antiques' N Stuff sign cost me a $1. It's my favorite one.

Thanks for dropping by and looking into my kitchen.
Please leave a comment, it makes my day!!
