A Beautiful Hat Box

I have had this hat box for years, always wanting to do something to it!!
Finally that day came. It's done!
Here's what I started with. Think I got this box at good will.

So here is the top of the hat box

Top and side. Has lots of palm trees.

Lots of trees inside

Good view of the side and handle

I first decided to paint it with chalk paint, then with some household paint I had here already in a cream color.
This is the top of the box. First I added the fancy lady in the hat. I printed out the graphics from the Graphics Fairy and then decoupaged it to the top of the box. I Bought a stencil from Michaels and used gesso on the stencil. That went on top of the lady and the bottom.  Loved how it turned out!! Next I added the letter graphics, also from GF using the waxed paper method.
I then added a crocheted doilie  I made, a found flower and a pin that had a rose and lace on it.
Last was the butterfly that came off of some flowers I was given.

Around the rim of the hat box, I used ribbon.

On the sides I used a picture of ladies wearing wonderful hats. Decoupaged 1 to each side.
Next I added a letter graphic and an ephemera graphic also from GF.

Also added gesso to each side of the girls with hats from the stencils.
Isn't she pretty!!

Closer look.

I added a ribbon with pearls for the handle.
And pearls line the inside of the box.

Before and after pictures.

I am in love with it!!

Tell me what you think,
How would you decorate it?

Thanks for stopping by.
